There is a list of recommended xeric plants on the City of Henderson website available here. It was prepared by the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition. Two of the contributors are Paul Noe (Star Nursery’s “Dr. Q”) and Dr. M. L. Robinson. The detailed list covers trees, shrubs, groundcovers, vines, cacti and succulents, ornamental grasses, and other perennials. We suggest that you choose from among the plants labeled “Bulletproof” — those tolerant of heat, cold, and wind; water-efficient; low-maintenance; non-invasive; and pest- and disease-resistant.
