Save the date! Monday, September 12, 2022 at 9:30am at the INDEPENDENCE Center will be the next SCA Garden Club Meeting. Note that the club is beginning its new tradition of meeting on Mondays rather than Tuesdays and our meetings have moved to the Morris/Nelson rooms of the Independence Center to accomodate our growing membership.
Sun City Anthem resident, noted author and horticulturist, Alec Pridgeon, Ph.D. will be presenting "Hummingbirds and Their Garden Plants in Nevada." His presentation will address:
Alec wants to reveal in advance that Aloe plants are favorites of hummingbirds, and Lowe's on Eastern Avenue has recently receieved a large shipment of those plants. They might be sold out by the time the Garden Club meeting occurs, and he doesn't want us to miss this opportunity!
Alec has published several books, most notably "The Illustrated Enyclopedia of Orchids".
Remember to bring your SCA ID card to show at the front desk, then check in with the club when you arrive at the meeting room. If you are not yet a member you are welcome to join us at no charge for up to 2 meetings in order to get to know us better. We hope you'll like what you see and learn!
