Arboretum & Xeriscape Garden (Courtesy of Linda Gettier)

All 335 acres of the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus is an arboretum with over 3000 trees representing more then 120 different species. Several of these trees are Nevada Champion Trees, being the largest example of their species in the entire state. Walk along grassy malls designed in the tradition created by Thomas Jefferson at the University of Virginia, and savor that shade in the desert. The UNLV Campus is also home to Xeriscape, Rose, Cactus and Succulent Gardens.

Take yourself on a 1.2 mile self-guided tour, starting at the Xeriscape Gardens surrounding the Marjorie Barrick Art Museum, then along the East Mall, Alumni Grove, the Rose Garden, North Mall, Cactus and Succulent Gardens.

Metered parking is available in front of the Barrick Museum, but is in short supply when school is in session. Additional free parking is available at the Thomas & Mack Center. Snacks and beverages are available at the Moyer Student Union and at a shop along the North Mall. Rest rooms are available in school buildings throughout the campus.

The Barrick Art Museum charges no admission but appreciates your donations.
